Temporary Electric Fence

I need to build a larger fenced pasture as our five acres paddock system is not big enough.

As a temporary solution we set up this small portable electric fence system. 

Soil Compaction

Last year we dug in some new underground waterlines to the barn and winter watering bowls.

The next pictures show the importance of packing the soil when back filling the trenches.

Picking up chicks

Nikki picked up 104 Cornish Cross chicks from the hatchery in Saskatoon.

 We had to take pictures now because in a few weeks they are no longer cute.

 We made a deal with these chicks, "we will feed them for a while, and then they will feed us for a while".
